Problem

Opportunity Education (OE), a global nonprofit, underwent a significant shift in its focus.

For over 10 years, the organization primarily provided overseas classroom aid to countries in Africa and Asia. While it made a difference in thousands of lives, it fell short of helping young people thrive in life and work after school.

Opportunity Education began research and development of a unique curriculum and methodology for more effective, active, project-based learning — from the ground up. (Later, we built apps to deliver it to students, teachers, and administrators on a global scale.)

Solution

While the shift was big, the organization's heart and sense of purpose were the same. The repositioning and rebranding effort needed to honor that foundation and the organization’s 10 years of brand equity as well as look ahead.

I designed a logo that reflected the organization’s new positioning and successfully presented its case to layers of opinionated, invested stakeholders.

Then, I directed the redesign of the organization’s software products, brand guides, websites, social presence, and eventually new educational institutions to align everything for consistency and optimal market positioning.
